Add your WebX mailbox to the Gmail app or Outlook, with the IMAP and SMTP server settings you'll need for either.

01Server settings you'll need

Whichever app you're setting up, you'll be asked for these at some point. Have them ready before you start.

  • Incoming mail server (IMAP) — details coming soon. Check with support for the exact values to use.
  • IMAP port — details coming soon. Check with support for the exact values to use.
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP) — details coming soon. Check with support for the exact values to use.
  • SMTP port — details coming soon. Check with support for the exact values to use.
  • Username: your full email address. Password: your mailbox password, set from the client portal or your control panel.

02In the Gmail app

The Gmail app on Android and iOS can add your WebX mailbox as a full account, with mail arriving and sending directly through it.

  • Open the Gmail app, tap your profile picture, then "Add another account".
  • Choose "Other" (sometimes shown as a generic mail icon rather than a named provider).
  • Enter your full WebX email address, then your password when asked.
  • When prompted for incoming and outgoing server details, enter the IMAP and SMTP settings above.

On gmail.com in a browser, adding another mailbox for reading works over POP3 rather than IMAP, which only syncs mail one-way and doesn't mirror folders the way IMAP does. If you want a full, two-way synced inbox from a browser, Outlook on the web or the desktop Outlook app (below) is the better fit.

03In Outlook

Outlook — desktop and mobile — supports adding your mailbox as a proper IMAP account, which keeps folders and read/unread status in sync in both directions.

  • Open Outlook and go to File → Add Account (in the mobile app: Settings → Add Mail Account).
  • Enter your WebX email address and choose "Advanced options", then "Let me set up my account manually".
  • Select IMAP as the account type.
  • Enter the incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server settings above, along with your email address as the username and your mailbox password.
  • Finish the setup — Outlook will test the connection and start syncing your mail.

04If it doesn't connect

The most common cause is a mistyped password or username — the username is your full email address, not just the part before the @. If the connection still fails after checking both, open a ticket from the client portal with the exact error message and we'll take a look.
